Today, Kinetic Gal performed at Takashimaya Event Square at B2 for a special Little Ones Club Event! We had hundred plus kids at the Square for balloons, games, show and Transformers right at the end. The event started at only 11am, but the kids and their parents were already queuing up super duper early for entrance to get a good seat. =)
We kicked off the events with some super-fast balloon twisting! We had to literally twist and twist away balloons for the children with the additional help of Mr Lightning Finger. =) When we ended the session just half an hour later, all the children in the seats had one or more balloons! That’s at least twice the normal speed!
Following that i hosted a games segment for the children – in fact, many of the merchandises happened to be selling at the same event square area too!
The children were given goodie packs from Takashimaya for the prizes.

Of course, directly after that, I did my magic juggling show for the Little Ones! =) As Singapore’s only female magic juggler, I’m really happy to see that most children are fascinated as much by juggling as magic! Writing about it, is kind of difficult! Here’s letting the picture do the ‘talking’ instead!

Here we go!

Opening segment

Children mesmerized by the paper bag magic!

Everyone enjoying themselves!

My little helper Shi Pei laughing away at my broken wand!
I hosted the lucky draw as well (20 consolation + 3 grand prizes – ain’t the organisers generous!) before it was time for the Transformers to make their appearance. Kinetic Gal hence made a ’safe’ retreat before the Transformers (i believe it was Optimus Prime + one other Decepticon whose name escapes me.) The transformers made a grand entrance and had everyone scrambling to take photos with them! I wished i had a chance to take photos with them, but… … no photos backstage!

Anyway, the children really enjoyed themselves at the Little Ones Club party, and so did i! In fact, i had a little fan who kept coming up to me to say hi when i was having lunch after the party!
Such a pity i did not have a photo taken with her!
Here’s looking forward to seeing you (please do come and say hi!) at more events, soon! =)

It has been a really busy month of May for birthday parties. I hosted a record number of birthday parties in the past month and have had tremendous fun performing and hosting parties for (mostly) gals and younger children. =) Besides birthday parties, Kinetic Gal also performed at a DnD function and had tremendous response.
As promised, here are some of the photos from the birthday parties passed (which i had not had time to post!):

Favourite interactive segment!

Let’s cut the cake!

Everyone say: YAY!

Nice Decorations!
Some photos as well from DnD function:

My favourite photo of the evening!

Audience interaction!

Finale!
The last Saturday saw me also, hosting a party for Happy Rogers.
Her daddy is Jim Rogers – someone you’d definitely have heard about if you’re in the financial/ business sector. Happy’s mum and dad holds a Guinness World Record for journeying through 116 countries in a Mercedes! Like… woah! How cool is that! (What a coincidence now that we have a magic world record event that will be in the making on 27th June!)
Some pictures of the party:

Enthusiastic response!

Cookie Time!

Wands!

Where’s the Rabbit??
Paige (Happy’s mother) had a pretty cool idea that i thought was very fun for parties. She had a long strip of paper rolled out on the ground for the children to draw on with crayons! Excellent idea for keeping the kids preoccupied!

Children preoccupied with drawing!
I also met Welles at the same event on that day!

Welles the caricature artist drawing with both hands!
Welles is an awesome awesome caricaturist who does more than caricature! This guy also does profile silhouette cutting. VERY NICE! On the right is a caricature of Kinetic Gal that Welles did in less than 3 minutes (with both his hands i must add!). It was quite a hurried caricature as i was rushing off for another party (from one end of the island to the other) so it’s not that detailed… His works are pretty awesome! =)
–
On a separate note, I’m looking forward to a fun-filled (and magic-crazy) June! There are many events that are up-coming that are magic-related. This coming weekend, I’ll be hosting games and show for Takashimaya’s Little Ones Club party! It sounds really cool – and there will be a transformer meet and greet after my show (Oh boy! Kinetic Gal is also going to stay around for that! *grin*)!

See you around!
9 year old birthday parties in Singapore! May 19, 2009

I had the usual BUSY BUSY BUSY wkends (and wkdays as well) but for this week, i hosted a couple of birthday parties for the older children, some turning 9 years old. Sometimes parents call and ask if their children about 9 years old will like to watch the show. Well, yes! I of course, treat the 9 year olds very differently when talking to them – no talking down of course!
In fact the last show was hosted at a pretty special place. It was called ‘Firestation’ and was located at the former Bukit Timah Firestation. Unlike the other usual places, this party was held at an uber cool Gastrobar!

I hosted the party for Vera and her friends who were extremely sporting! They really enjoyed the whole set of games and had great fun – High School Musical music and Hannah Montana were great hits as usual! The only thing more surprising was when everyone ran off just before we got to the grand finale – ‘Balloon Bomb’! Usually i only have kids running towards me, not the other way round!
In any case, they soon found that it was fun and not scary, so everyone enjoyed themselves.
That’s Vera there on the right – HAPPY BIRTHDAY Vera! I do so hope that i can see you again next year too!

While the week was good, i read disturbing news on the newspaper which i alerted my boss and close friend Ning to immediately:

The NewPaper - Magician, 68, molests 12-year-old apprentice
This was more than just disturbing but also, horrifying news to me. Being in the industry, i know that cases like these have actually happened in other parts of the countries before, but never in Singapore. I never dreamt that it would happen right here! Children trust us simply because they like us but scumbags (i apologise for the strong language, but this is warranted, in this case) like these had to exist. The boy is only 12 years old and it must have had been so totally awful. I really hope that he can put this behind him after accepting counselling help.
In fact, immediately after the report was out, on the very same day, i had parents asking me about this, and actually telling me that they felt safer going with me for their chosen entertainer simply because i am a female and they felt more confortable and reassured after talking to me. I’m really glad that is so, and i’d urge parents to choose your entertainers wisely too. You can never be more careful for this!
Kinetic Gal Can’t Wait for Hannah Montana The Movie to be OUT! April 20, 2009

Hannah Montana The Movie is going to open in the cinemas on the 18th of June! The hit series from Walt Disney Channel gets into a feature movie! I myself can’t wait to catch the movie in the theatres when it opens. Due to the popularity of Walt Disney Channel series like High School Musical, to Hannah Montana and Cheetah Girls, many kids, girls especially, just LOVE it when their birthday parties have themes from these series.
Knowing how much kids just love these series, I have, since the start of this year really started incorporating the feel of many of such series in the party – from party songs to games! And, possibly, just because of that, I have had increase of request from parents for parties! In all my parties, I have a very much Hanna Montana kind of feel for my on-stage persona. Girls really just love it and take to me easily – afterall, we can relate much better… It is exactly what the old credit card advertisement says – The men don’t get it!
The games segment has really undergone a revolution in terms of music! Expect much more updated music from Walt Disney’s Playhouse Disney (think Tigger, Handy Manny etc) to Niklodeon (Spongebob Squarepants), to Disney Channel (High School Muscial), to Warner Bros (Teen Titans) and so many more!
Just last week too, i had an email from a parent delighted to find me online – because she was looking for a female magician for her daughter. That’s right, Kinetic Gal is Singapore’s ONLY female magic juggler, so you won’t be able to find anyone else.
Just for fun, here’s my top 3 favourite songs from some of the TV series:
- Who Said – Hannah Montana
- Scream – High School Musical 3
- We’re All in This Together – High School Musical 1
Even the kids are surprised when i sing along to the songs when I’m at the parties! Hahaha!

Happy with Balloons!
I wouldn’t be surprised if you were not familiar with this name… Afterall, Fabrizio Bolzoni is based in France. He is a French award-winning balloon twister and a seasoned performer who does balloons, magic and more. Well known for his balloons, this guy has won lots of awards:
- Top Twister 2007 Twist & Shout Nashville,Tenesse U.S.A
- First Place Small Balloon sculpture Twist & Shout 2007
- First Place Medium Balloon Sculpture Twist & Shout 2007
- Second Place Balloon Entertainment Competition Twist & Shout 2007
- Balloon Excellence 2003 Phoenix, Arizona U.S.A and more European’s Trophies

Fabrizio's Creation! Marionettes are one thing he's well known for! (Photos from Balloon HQ)
Kinetic Gal was really lucky to have gotten the chance to attend the 2 day workshop/seminar with Fabrizio!

Fabrizio Bolzoni and Kinetic Gal (who's not in costume...)!
Well, if you didn’t know, Kinetic Gal really started off with ballooning before magic came in, and then juggling.
So balloons is how it all started for me, so i’m really excited to attend this seminar by one of the best balloonist around! It was a great first day today and of course, the newly acquired ballooning skills will be used in the hosting of my parties.

Learning with friends, new and old, is fun! One should never stop learning!
As we all know, one must never stop learning! And Kinetic Gal’s always looking to improve!
I’m so looking forward to tomorrow! More pictures then! WOOHOO!

Kinetic Gal hosted a myriad of birthday parties over the wkend and I’m really glad to report that the kids are really enjoying themselves more and more!
The lack of updates for the last wkend was partly due to the busy-ness (interestingly, this translates as busi-ness! LOL!) with so many birthday parties packed as well as the fact the Kinetic Gal was down with a bug the early part of the week. (OUCH!) I have recovered though, and stronger than before.
Little boys and girls must stay healthy too so everyone can enjoy birthday parties, juggling and magic!
Last week’s birthday parties were for Zahra, Lakshmi, and Carl… and this week, for Claire, Adhithian and Victoria! Here are some of the snapshots of some of the parties:

Presenting our birthday boy!

Sweet birthday gal enjoying the show!

I was the ’surprise’ for Adhithian and i’m so glad he likes his surprise!

The gun presentation ceremony *salutes*.

Happy Birthday @ Mac Donalds!

The thing that makes all children entertainers happy and continue doing what we do – smiles and laughter of genuine joy from the kids…
This particular wkend was very very awesome – Claire’s birthday party was a blast, and i had many of her friends giving me ribbons during the party. One of her friends asked me if i was a power ranger ‘cos according to her, i looked like one!
Adhithian’s friends and relatives love the balloons and we enjoyed the high school musical music together.. While during Victoria’s party, the kids asked me a very funny question: Why are you so FUNNY??? Oh my. Hahahahahah!!!!
Honestly, i had such a blast hosting the party, in fact i think i enjoyed myself as much as the kids enjoyed themselves. Really!
Side tidbits: Kinetic Gal is so looking forward to a seminar that’s gonna happen in a two weeks time. This guy’s an award winning *beep beep* (not vulgar, just a secret) from France and he’s coming down to Singapore. To me this seminar’s almost an equivalent of a master class already, so you can imagine the tremendous excitement! AND of course, there’s a new addition to the show!!! What is it? Stay tuned to find out!

Del-care Centre
Just yesterday, Kinetic Gal had the greatest fun hosting the birthday party at Del-care at the Fuji Xerox Tower for James who was turning six year old. Apparently, they used to always have another entertainer, but decided to get me this time round.
James struck me as an extremely well-mannered kid who wasn’t afraid to speak up when needed.
He is one of the few who says the magic word is: PLEASE. LOL! Extremely well-mannered, clever and conversational, i’m sure this kid is going to grow up to become a handsome young gentleman!
James was literally ( i really mean LITERALLY) bouncing when helping me out with the silk magic segment! Hahaha! His enthusiasm affected me and i started jumping around with him – we had a great little fun time there, and the kids were all very happy and amused too! Unfortunately I was busy hosting the party and did not have chance to take any pictures…
By the way, majority of the kids in the childcare were allowed to watch the show with the class of the birthday boy. While our birthday package states that it is for 25pax kids, when performing at childcare centre, we always allow kids from different classes to come in to watch the show too. The 25 pax would apply when giving out balloons and hosting the cake cutting ceremony.
Here’s wishing the young gentleman a HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I look forward to seeing the kids at Del-care again… I’m sure there’ll be a chance of that!

Happy Moo Year!!
Happy Moo Year! I saw this very interesting taxi on the road while running parties so i decided to share this on the blog! This weekend was really busy with parties and walk around juggling!
While most people were busy with Chinese New Year celebrations, some kids were having their birthdays, and it was great fun for them with New Year celebrations and birthday celebrations at the same time! (Double the ang-pows!) Of the few parties that i hosted this weekend, i saw some very nice decorations at one of the party! Here are just two of the pictures:

Mr Balloon Stickman!

Pretty Balloon Decorations!
The customer had asked for a recommendation from me about balloon decorations, and I recommended Balloon Barons. These guys are great at balloon decorations and you can get them for your party decorations and they have a wide range of decorations that they can do, depending on your budget.
I hosted another party for a 6 year old boy, Prithvi too, at Jervois Lodge! Even though his mum, Shawna related to me that it was the first party that they have done, it definitely did not look like so! The kids really enjoyed themselves (and they LOVED the balloon bomb) and the party was very well-ran!

Food Time!
Here’s wishing all Aahana, Zhijun and Prithvi a Happy Birthday!
Happy Lunar New Year to one and all too!
PS. I have received quite a few emails asking about how and where to get party bags, so i shall be sharing about that soon! =)

Yay! Kinetic Gal’s gotten a new costume for the new year 2009!
The new costume is more tuned towards older kids and for corporate events as well! Kinetic Gal’s superhero costume is still in use, but there’s now one more option! *grin*
